One of my favorite things about living here isn't a place.

It's the people.

You'll be walking through downtown Paso Robles and someone holds the door.

You're standing in line for coffee and end up talking with the person behind you.

You run into someone you know at the farmers market, and a quick hello somehow turns into a twenty-minute conversation.

Nobody seems bothered by it.

I hope that never changes.

I Hope the Oak Trees Always Welcome Us Home

There are certain roads where the oak trees almost feel like old friends.

Twisted branches.

Massive trunks.

Shade that's been there longer than any of us.

I've driven past some of these trees hundreds of times.

I still look at them.

They're part of the character of this place.

They remind me that not everything needs to change.

One thing I love about San Luis Obispo County is that every downtown feels different.

Paso Robles doesn't feel like Cambria.

Cambria doesn't feel like San Luis Obispo.

Cayucos doesn't feel like Morro Bay.

Each one has its own rhythm.

Its own local businesses.

Its own personality.

I hope they always do.

It's those differences that make exploring this county so much fun.

I've noticed something over the years.

People stop for sunsets here.
