New California Laws Impact Renters & Landlords in 2025! 
Big changes are coming for California renters and landlords this year! 
Here’s what you need to know:
AB 2724 – Tenants can now report rent payments to credit agencies to boost their credit scores. 
AB 2801 – Security deposit rules are stricter; landlords can’t charge for cleaning unless there’s significant damage. 
SB 611 & AB 2493 – Transparency is required for hidden fees like junk and screening fees. 
Laws target landlords with 15+ units, but small landlords may have exceptions.
