Believe it or not, there are clear signs buyer interest is heating up again.
Let’s take a look at what’s really going on behind the scenes—and why the housing market might not be as quiet as it feels from the outside.
One of the best ways to get a pulse on what’s on people’s minds is to look at what they’re typing into Google.
According to Google Trends, searches for terms like “home for sale” have been climbing steadily this year.
The graph below shows how popular two common homebuyer search phrases have been over the past two years. A score of 100 means peak popularity for that term.
Here’s what jumps out: both phrases have been trending upward for months—and they hit a fresh high in mid-July. That’s a strong signal that curiosity (and possibly readiness) to buy a home is improving.
This kind of momentum isn’t random. Even with higher mortgage rates and home prices, buyers are still in the game. They’re watching. They’re browsing. And many are simply waiting for the right home to hit the market.
That home could be yours. But if it’s not listed, they can’t find it.
Now, this doesn’t mean we’re heading back to the frenzy of 2021. It means some buyers have decided they can’t keep waiting—and those are exactly the buyers you want. They’re motivated, eager, and ready to act when they see “the one.”
If you’ve been thinking, “I’ll sell when demand comes back,” this is your sign. The demand may already be here—it’s just quieter and more targeted than before.
And here’s the good news: you don’t need a bidding war to get a great offer. You just need the right buyer.
Buyers are searching for homes right now, and the data proves it. If you’ve been holding off on listing, it may be time to rethink your timing.
📲 Connect with a local real estate agent to talk about how search trends, buyer activity, and your local market conditions line up—and how to use that momentum to sell your home with confidence.
