Celebrate the Harvest: SLO Ranch's Inaugural Blueberry Festival
Celebrate the Season at the 1st Annual Blueberry Festival at SLO Ranch

San Luis Obispo is known for its charm, community spirit, and commitment to celebrating the bounty of our Central Coast. This May, there's a new tradition taking root that perfectly embodies all three. Mark your calendar for the 1st Annual Blueberry Festival at SLO Ranch Farms & Marketplace—happening Saturday, May 17th, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

This free, family-friendly event is all about bringing people together through food, fun, and local pride. You’ll find everything from live music by the Shawn Clark Family Band to line dancing lessons with Nexus SLO. Kids can enjoy bounce houses, a petting zoo, tractor rides, and face painting, while adults can browse local vendors or compete in the blueberry pie-eating contest.

SLO Ranch will also open its U-Pick blueberry field, giving families the chance to harvest fresh berries right from the source. Whether you're there for the blueberry-inspired food and drinks, the live entertainment, or simply to soak in the community vibe—there's something for everyone.

Event Highlights:

Live Music: Enjoy performances by the Shawn Clark Family Band.

Animal Demonstrations: Experience interactive exhibits from Paddock Zoo.

Blueberry Specials: Savor blueberry-themed treats and specials from local merchants.

Family Activities: Participate in bounce houses, a petting zoo, tractor rides, carnival games, and face painting.

Line Dancing: Join in with Nexus SLO for some fun moves.

U-Pick Blueberries: Pick fresh blueberries straight from the farm.

Local Vendors: Explore a variety of local vendor pop-ups.

Pie-Eating Contest: Test your appetite in the blueberry pie-eating contest.

Raffle: Enter for a chance to win a $500 grand prize.

Events like this aren’t just about fun (though there’s plenty of that). They’re about supporting our local farms, merchants, and artists. They're about making memories with your family and neighbors. They’re about why we all love calling the Central Coast home.

So grab your sunhat, rally your crew, and come on out to the Blueberry Festival. Admission and parking are free, and the memories you’ll make are priceless. We’ll see you at the farm!
